Questions people ask
Why are there 13th and 14th salaries?
In Austria, holiday pay and Christmas pay are commonly paid as a 13th and 14th salary. They are taxed separately from regular pay and have separate social-insurance limits.
How are the 13th and 14th salaries taxed?
Within the Jahressechstel, special payments receive preferential tax treatment: the first €620 is tax-free and the balance is generally taxed at 6% in this estimate. If the Jahressechstel is at most €2,100, the threshold exemption applies.
What are the 2026 social-insurance caps?
The monthly maximum contribution base is €6,930; the annual cap for special payments is €13,860.
What does Familienbonus Plus do?
Familienbonus Plus reduces income tax for eligible children. The actual amount depends on age and eligibility.
Is this an official payslip?
No. This is a simplified estimate. Province, commuter relief, benefits in kind, changes during the year and individual payroll details can change take-home pay.
